Welcome to RCTC! Your education here opens doors to new, unexpected opportunities. It’s wonderful to have our new and returning students fill the campus and online learning community again! We, in Student Affairs are committed to your success and begin each semester with this communication campaign called “RCTC Student Beehive” – named in recognition of our campus yellowjacket mascot Sting. Each week on Wednesdays, we’ll share the most relevant and important information about “Bee-ing” successful in accomplishing your goals at RCTC. Also, “The Hive” is an online blog where all of this information is stored and is available to you 24/7. Bookmark this site and visit it often for all the Beehives and other helpful information.
THE LAST DAY TO ADD AND DROP CLASSES
RCTC students can make changes to full term schedules through the 5th day of classes. The final day to add and drop full-term classes is this Friday, January 12th. You can manage your class schedule via eServices.
Students are responsible to verify that any change was processed correctly by printing a copy of their academic schedule whenever they make a change. After the deadline to drop a course, refunds are issued only for complete withdrawals in accordance with the published RCTC refund schedule.

Scholarships for students graduating and transferring are available. The RCTC Foundation is offering scholarships for these students only– graduating students or students transferring to a four-year institution in 2024 Spring, 2024 Summer, or 2024 Fall. Scholarships for graduating students can be used to pay for licensing, equipment or other costs. Transferring scholarships will be paid directly to the four-year institution. There are 11 scholarships available, offering more than $50,000 with a variety of majors and degrees. The scholarship portal will open on January 12 and close on February 12.
As a reminder, our Main application window for 2024 Fall semester and 2025 Spring semester will open on April 1. Watch your email after Spring Break!
FREE BUS RIDES FOR RCTC STUDENTS!
Using the bus system in Rochester is easy and convenient. Students can access any part of the city using Rochester Public Transit as their mode of transportation. The buses are clean, safe, and enjoyable to ride. Rochester Public Transit services RCTC Monday through Friday, every 30 minutes from morning until evening. For additional information on routes, times, and more, visit the RPT website. Show your RCTC Student ID and you can ride any route, anytime for free! If you haven’t obtained your Student ID yet, visit the ID office in the WOSC to get yours today!
HIVE SUPPLY – STUDENT FOOD SHELF
The Hive Supply is RCTC’s on campus food shelf. Current RCTC students can visit the Hive Supply when needed. Some other health and wellness items are also available; non-food items vary throughout the year and are based on donations. Check out the Hive Supply webpage for hours and other information!

Did you know Campus Email is RCTC’s official means of communication with students?
All RCTC students are provided with an email account through the College. This email account is the official means of communication from the college. Your campus email login format is: StarID@go.minnstate.edu – Example: rc1234tc@go.minnstate.edu. Email can be accessed at your outlook account or on your mobile device.
You can find instructions to set up your mobile phone to access your email, calendar information, contacts and tasks on the RCTC website.

JOIN US FOR MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS NIGHT
Join us for Mental Health Awareness night at the RCTC Basketball games on January 10th
RCTC Student Health Services is hosting a Mental Health Awareness event at the Men’s and Women’s home basketball games on Wednesday, January 10. We know that many of our students deal with mental health issues and we want everyone to know that help is available. Campus and local community resources will be on hand to share information about their services and we will share mental health facts and other information throughout the night.
The athletes will wear mental health awareness T-shirts during their warm-up and the first 50 RCTC students attending the game will also receive a free T-shirt. During half-times of each game, students can participate in an interactive mental health trivia game for a chance to win an Amazon gift card! PLUS – Student Life will have FREE chicken sandwiches for students!
