RCTC Head Wrestling Coach Randy Rager is finalist for Area Coach of the Year.
Rager was nominated by Rochester Sports, formerly known as the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission.
“Coaching is often a thankless job,” Rager said, “and I’ve always worked hard to do the best for our athletes. It feels good to be recognized for these efforts.”
Rager has twice been named NJCAA Division III National Coach of the year and Minnesota College Athletic Conference Wrestling Coach of the Year five times. Rager has also held the position of vice president of the NJCAA Coaches Association since 2014.
“We are thrilled that the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission has named Coach Rager as a finalist for Coach of the Year,” said RCTC Athletic Director Mike Lester. “His commitment to the students and student-athletes at RCTC is second to none. The Athletic Department, Department of Student Affairs and all of RCTC’s faculty, staff and students are very proud of Randy and his young men.”
The winner of the Coach of the Year Award will be announced at the 13th annual Rochester Sports Banquet on Jan. at the Rochester Event Center.
