Stop, Don’t Get Dropped!

December 16, 2024

Drop for prior term balance due will occur. If you have a balance due for a prior term and are registered for a future term, you will be dropped from the future term classes unless prior term balance is paid in full

December 23, 2024

First registration cancellation for non-payment, non-approved deferment (see definitions “What is an approved deferment?” below).

Full payment is due unless you sign up for a Nelnet payment plan or qualify for an approved deferment to hold your registration. Students who register on December 23rd or later are required to pay in full at the time of registration, set up a Nelnet payment plan or qualify for an approved deferment.

January 10, 2025

Last day to enroll in a Nelnet payment plan. The Nelnet payment plan is available online only, and can be accessed through eServices.

Go to “Bills and Payment” and then “Payment Plan” This will direct you to Nelnet to set up a plan.

January 21, 2025

Second registration cancellation for non-payment, non-approved deferment status (see definitions “What is an approved deferment?” below). Drop will happen on January 21.

International students will need to pay in full.

January 24, 2025

Grant, Loan & Scholarship funding applied to RCTC accounts. First time borrowers will NOT receive loan funding until February 14th, 2025. Students borrowing for SPRING only will receive half of their loan funding at the beginning of the term and the 2nd half will be applied on/about March 20th. Students enrolled entirely in late start courses will see a delay in disbursement of their financial aid. Financial aid cannot be applied to your account more than 10 days prior to your first class session

MARCH 24th, 2025

An $80 late fee/payment plan fee is added to any account not paid in full (must have a zero balance). This includes all financial aid students who have not had their aid applied to their account for a zero-balance due. A hold will also be placed on student accounts for non-payment

Exempt: Students under the Nelnet payment plan will not be charged these fees

What is an approved deferment?

  • An active payment plan agreement with Nelnet
  • Financial Aid application on file
  • Pay $300 or 15% of total balance, whichever is less
  • Approved third party vendor authorization on file
  • Outside Scholarship funds over $300 deposited at RCTC in student’s name
  • Veteran awaiting their VA benefit-Must have information on file with RCTC
  • International students with coded F1 Visa

Please Note:

  • If you receive any of the approved deferments, RCTC will NOT cancel your classes
  • If your plans change and you will NOT be attending RCTC, it is your responsibility to cancel your registration OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED
  • Full payments can be made via eServices or at the RCTC Cashier’s office. Set up a payment plan through Nelnet.
