Academic Progress
Students receiving Financial Aid at Rochester Community and Technical College must be making progress toward their degree. Following each term, a student’s academic progress will be reviewed. Students must meet GPA and completion rate/timeframe requirements of the policy. Students not making progress toward their degree may be allowed to continue receiving financial aid under a warning status. Students that have two or more occurrences of not making progress will be placed on a Financial Aid Suspension and become ineligible for all types of financial aid. Students with prior degrees or credits beyond those needed for their RCTC program may also be placed on Financial Aid Suspension (Maximum Timeframe Suspension).
All students applying for financial aid are provided with a link to Rochester Community and Technical College’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy. For a copy of the policy in an alternative format, please contact the Welcome and One Stop Center at (507) 285-7557.
Return to Title IV (R2T4)
Students who receive financial aid and withdraw, never attend, or stop participating in their courses prior to the 60% point of the term are considered to have received unearned financial aid. RCTC is required by federal law to perform a calculation to determine the portion of federal aid you must return/repay. For more information, please review the R2T4 policy. A copy of this policy can be provided in alternative formats by contacting the Welcome and One Stop Center at (507) 285-7557.
Net Price Calculator
Determining the cost of attending college can be complicated. In addition to the information provided on this page, RCTC has created a link to our own net price calculator to help students and parents estimate the cost of attending our college.
