Dr. Jamie Mahlberg has been named Regional Coordinator for the Minn-Kota Region, effective immediately. Jamie is a Psychology instructor at RCTC where she has served as advisor to the Omicron chapter– the oldest chapter in Minnesota– since 2015. She is a Five Star Advisor and a Paragon Award winner.
Like many first-generation college students, Jamie began her higher education at a community college – Northeast Iowa Community College in Peosta, Iowa. She credits the innovative educators she had during this first year of college with the eventual direction of her career. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and spent her junior year abroad with Semester at Sea. She earned a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Northern Iowa and began her teaching career at the City Colleges of Chicago. In 2007, she accepted her current position teaching psychology at RCTC, where she enjoys working with diverse students from across Southeast Minnesota. After realizing that community college was “home,” she earned a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University Mankato. She is passionate about advancing the community college’s mission beyond the classroom.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Jamie Mahlberg as the new Regional Coordinator for the Minn-Kota Region!
