RCTC is proud to share that instructor MaryJane “MJ” Wagenson has been named by the NFL as part of the High School Officiating Crew of the Year. The five Minnesota-based high school officiating crew members include: MJ Wagenson, Patrick Bergquist, Kevin Britt, Pete D. Cheeley, and Dennis Harris. Nominated by the Minnesota Vikings, the NFL recognized the crew for their performance and contributions to the Minnesota State High School League during the 2024 season. All crew members attended the Pro Bowl Games in Orlando where they had the opportunity to officiate team and skill challenges.
The Vikings honored the crew with a commemorative coin, framed certificate, custom jersey, and a facility tour for their dedication to youth athletics and officiating. The NFL, in partnership with the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), continues to support high school football officiating through recognition, mentorship, and outreach initiatives.
The NFHS praised the Minnesota crew’s dedication, highlighting their role as a model for excellence in officiating. The initiative also included partnerships with 10 NFL teams, each recognizing top officials in their respective states.
