In an isolated part of Iceland at the beginning of the last century, winter still has its icy grip on the land. Mother declares that she must travel to a safer place to have her new baby. Father wants Nonni to stay home and look after the sheep, especially his favorite, Gullbra. Nonni is angry and finds no comfort in the fact that Father leaves his best sheepdog Titla behind as company. Boy and dog are both displeased at being left. After Nonni’s parents leave, there is a great storm and Gullbra runs off into the snowy wasteland. Nonni does not want to disappoint his father and sets off to rescue the sheep. Titla follows and an amazing event occurs- suddenly the boy and dog can understand each other perfectly. Their journey in search of Gullbra leads them into an extraordinary landscape, both real and metaphorical. Join us for a tale of high adventure, mythical creatures, humor, and discovery. Bring the whole family!
