Rochester Community and Technical College is proud to announce that the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) has awarded its Surgical Technology associate degree program continuing accreditation until 2033.
The Surgical Technology program has been accredited by CAAHEP since 1977. Jason Jadin, RCTC Dean of Sciences and Health Professions, states “I am delighted to receive news that the program has been awarded continuing accreditation for another 10 years. Meeting the CAAHEP Standards for Surgical Technology assures students that RCTC’s program provides the educational foundation necessary to begin a successful career in Surgical Technology.” Jadin adds, “I am proud of the RCTC faculty and staff whose hard work and dedication led to a successful accreditation review.”
The Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) conducts comprehensive and annual reviews of the program’s compliance with the Standards and submits recommendations regarding accreditation status to CAAHEP. ARC/STSA monitors the program’s outcomes through the program’s annual report and supporting documentation (Standard IV.B.). Profession-specific CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines can be found on the website, www.caahep.org. RCTC is also fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, one of six regional accrediting agencies in the United States.
