April 12-16, 2021 is Severe Weather Awareness Week. On Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 1:45 pm and 6:45 pm, the severe weather sirens will sound throughout Minnesota. For those on campus, in order to maintain social distancing, RCTC will NOT be conducting actual drills this year. Rather, employees and students are encouraged to identify where the closest shelter location is from where they are located at the time of the sirens; and consider “What would you do if this was an actual severe weather warning?”
Where do you go on campus if severe weather strikes? More information. Also be on the lookout for the poster on the right with important severe weather information.
The Minnesota Department of Administration – Risk Management has also compiled daily severe weather topics for you to review.
- Monday – Alerts and Warnings
- Tuesday – Severe Weather Lightning and Hail
- Wednesday – Floods
- Thursday – Tornadoes – (with statewide tornado drills)
- Friday – Extreme Heat
